A chamber orchestra with two singers and two ballet dancers in an 1877 palace hall: 90 minutes, from €55.
The Vienna Residence Orchestra plays Mozart, Strauss waltzes, Vivaldi and Beethoven in the Palais Alte Börse, the former stock exchange on Wipplingerstraße designed by Theophil Hansen and built between 1870 and 1877. According to the orchestra's site the line-up is a chamber group of five to seven musicians with two singers and two ballet dancers, and the programme runs about 90 minutes with an interval of 15 to 17 minutes.
Seats are sold as VIP, A and B, with B the furthest from the stage. The orchestra says you buy a category and not a numbered seat, and that staff show you to a place. Its site gives 18:30 and 20:30 as typical start times across its venues, but we could not confirm which apply at the Börse. The 9.0 score comes from 39 reviews, the smallest sample on this page.

Visitors who want arias and a little ballet alongside the music in a palace hall in the centre, without the trip to Schönbrunn.
This is a small ensemble and not a full orchestra, whatever the name suggests. Only 39 reviews stand behind the score. Children under 6 are not admitted, and Civitatis closes bookings five hours before the concert.
Arrive at Wipplingerstraße 34 at least 30 minutes early. The orchestra's site mentions a €1 cloakroom charge per item, says casual clothes are acceptable and does not permit photography during the performance. Wheelchair access must be requested when booking.
