Which city for flamenco: Seville, Madrid, Barcelona or Granada?
If your route covers more than one of the four, the catalogue gives clear reasons to book in the south.

Short answer
See flamenco in Seville or Granada if either is on your route. Each has eight houses in the catalogue, entry prices from €17.50 to €36, and the widest choice of small rooms and caves. Madrid has the long-established names and the lowest single price, from €15, and Barcelona is the place to book only when the south is not on your trip.
The four cities in numbers
These are the houses bookable through the catalogue and their lowest adult prices on 4 October 2026.
- Seville: 8 houses, from €20 to €36. Seven shows last one hour, one lasts 90 minutes. Capacity is known for all eight.
- Granada: 8 houses, from €17.50 to €30. Every show lasts about an hour. Five of the eight are caves.
- Madrid: 5 houses, from €15 to €49.99. Shows of 60 to 75 minutes. Capacity is known for two.
- Barcelona: 7 houses, from €24.65 to €88. From a 40-minute set to a dinner evening. Capacity is known for two.
Seville: the widest choice of small rooms
Four of Seville's eight houses hold 50 to 60 people: Baraka Sala Flamenca and La Cantaora (50 each), Sala Almoraima (55) and Casa de la Guitarra (60). Two Seville rooms have more than 1,000 reviews each: the Museo del Baile Flamenco, with 1,080 at 9.5, and Baraka, with 1,015 at 9.3.
The format is simple. Six houses sell no dinner, the show lasts an hour, and sessions run from 17:00 to 21:30, so it fits around any other plan. Every house offers free cancellation, two of them up to one hour before.
Granada: the Sacromonte caves
Granada is the only one of the four cities with cave rooms on the Sacromonte hillside, where the local form is the zambra and the audience sits along the walls. Cueva Los Amayas limits its audience to 60 and performs with no stage and no PA system. Cuevas Los Tarantos, with 1,027 reviews, spreads about 190 people across three caves.
The catch is getting there. The Camino del Sacromonte is closed to ordinary traffic, so you arrive by taxi, on the C34 minibus or on foot uphill from Plaza Nueva, and none of the catalogue tickets includes a transfer. The caves start at 20:00 or later.
If that does not suit, Granada also has two flat, central tablaos at low prices: La Alboreá from €17.50 and Casa Ana from €20, the latter with a 9.6 score from 309 reviews.
Madrid: the big names
Madrid's list is shorter and more varied. Corral de la Morería has been open since 1956, seats about 140 at tables and sells five dinner menus. Torres Bermejas has 2,763 reviews, more than any other flamenco house in the four cities, at a score of 8.6.
Teatro Flamenco Madrid, a 220-seat theatre, has 846 reviews at 9.3. Essential Flamenco performs in a brick cellar and states that it uses no microphones. Tablao Ópera Flamenca, opened in autumn 2024, has the lowest price anywhere in our flamenco data, from €15.
Three well-known tablaos, Cardamomo, Tablao de la Villa and Las Carboneras, are not in the catalogue and are not compared here. That says nothing about those houses.
Barcelona: the caveat
Flamenco is not a Catalan tradition. Barcelona has a flamenco history built by Andalusian families who moved there in the twentieth century, the dancer Carmen Amaya was born in the city, and Los Tarantos has been open since 1963. In practice the seven rooms in the catalogue sit mostly in the old town and around La Rambla, and work mainly for visitors.
The evidence is thinner too. The most-reviewed house, Tablao Cordobés, has 361 reviews, and four of the seven have fewer than 25. You can still see a full show with singer, guitarist and dancers. Choose on room size, length and price, and not on the idea that one address is the local favourite.
If your trip covers more than one
Seville and Granada together: the two cities offer different rooms, so seeing both is not a repeat. A 50-seat room in Seville and a Sacromonte cave are different formats at similar prices.
Madrid plus one Andalusian city: book in Andalusia for the wider choice, unless a particular Madrid house is what you want. Madrid and Barcelona only: Madrid has more review evidence and the lower price floor. We have not attended these shows, so this comparison rests on the sheets and does not rank the performers in any city.
